On 23 January 2026, Sentinel-2 caught the salt-evaporation ponds of Las Coloradas, on Yucatán's Ría Lagartos estuary, in their vivid green concentration stage — not the pink the ponds are famous for, but a striking colour in its own right, bordered by a band of coral-toned cells and framed by the turquoise Gulf of Mexico.
