On 25 September 2025, the Sentinel-2 satellite looked down on a snow-capped volcanic cone inside Kamchatka's Kronotsky Nature Reserve, home to the famous Valley of Geysers. Dark bare rock cuts through fresh snow around the crater rim, and a glacial lake pools in dark blue just beside it — one of the most remote and least-photographed volcanic landscapes on Earth.
