On 8 June 2026, the Sentinel-2 satellite traced the north shore of Prince Edward Island and caught the province's signature: soil so rich in iron oxide it reads as pure red-orange from orbit, striped between green fields of young potatoes and grain. Waves break white along the coast at the top of the frame, and small kettle ponds sit scattered through the farmland like punctuation.
It's one of the most distinctive agricultural colours on the continent — nowhere else does ordinary dirt look this much like a painting.
