On 24 June 2026, the Sentinel-2 satellite looked down on Dungeness, on England's Kent coast — Europe's largest expanse of shingle headland — and caught its distinctive fanned ridges reaching into the turquoise Channel, farmland patchwork behind giving way to pale beach and pooled water in the reserve's gravel pits.
