On 11 October 2025, the Sentinel-2 satellite looked down on Mount Royal, the forested hill at the heart of Montreal, Quebec. Ringed by the city's dense street grid, the park's dome of autumn canopy reads as a single green island — a rare piece of untouched relief inside one of North America's oldest and densest urban cores.
